The App converts Chinese text on your device. The work is offline and designed to be auditable. A paid App Store purchase includes long-term maintenance and updates.
1. Acceptance
By downloading or using 簡繁轉換 Traditional Chinese Conversion (“the App”), you agree to this User Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Purchases through the Apple App Store are also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store terms.
2. The App
The App converts Simplified and Traditional Chinese ebooks and text on your iPhone or iPad. You choose an EPUB, HTML, or plain-text file; the App writes a new result and does not alter the original.
3. Paid purchase, maintenance, and updates
The App is a paid product. After you buy it from the App Store, you receive a license to use it on devices associated with your Apple ID, subject to Apple’s rules.
Paid purchasers receive long-term maintenance and updates: we intend to keep shipping fixes, dictionary and rule improvements, and compatibility updates through the App Store. Purchase does not promise a fixed release calendar or unlimited new features, but ongoing maintenance and updates are a core commitment to paying customers.
4. Offline processing
Conversion does not require a network connection and does not send your files to us or to any server. Dictionaries and rules are bundled in the App. See the Privacy Policy.
5. Auditability
The App is built so you can inspect what happened to your text:
- Conversion uses bundled, inspectable OpenCC dictionaries and documented rules (the same family as the tradsimp Calibre plugin).
- A conversion log is available for each run.
- Bilingual display can place the original under the converted text so you can compare changes.
- Application source is published under GPL-3.0. That license covers the source code; your App Store purchase is a separate license to use the compiled App.
6. Your content
You are responsible for having the right to open, convert, and store the files you use. The App does not grant you copyright in books or documents you process, and it is not a publishing or hosting service.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use the App to violate law or other people’s rights. Keep your own backups; conversion quality depends on dictionaries, file structure, and the source text.
8. Disclaimer
The App is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that every character or layout will convert as you expect. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost files.
9. Changes
We may update this agreement. The revised text will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
